Ben Hill Appraisal: Technically Advantaged Appraisers
At Ben Hill Appraisal, technology is the name of the game. We're great at making appraising look easy and we believe a big part of it is our ability to understand how to use the newest gadgets. We use the best and newest technology around to bring you high quality, accurate appraisals.
These days, appraisals have become more difficult and require more in depth analysis. Cutting corners on analysis isn't an option for an ethical appraiser. Therefore, we've simply optimized our routine processes to do more in less time. Our continuous efforts to be the best have convinced us that using the very latest in new technology allows us to bring you more accurate reports in less time and of course, the very best in customer service.

Ordering and Tracking
Way back when, a lot of our orders were delivered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back to the office. Often, in this scenario, it might of taken far too long to hear back to see if the order could be taken. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we receive an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
At Ben Hill Appraisal we understand it's all about "cycle time". We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. This website has proven to reduce cycle time for us and our clients by enhancing our communications.
Ben Hill Appraisal is a pioneer in efficient data gathering
Gathering the data for an appraisal is an intensive process. We spend quite a bit of time gathering both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Ben Hill Appraisal takes advantage of technology to close the gap once again.
We've learned that taking notes traditionally, using pencil and paper, generally takes longer since we we have to enter everything back in at the office. Don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application developed for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on the spot. Rather than using that clumsy old tape measure, more and more appraisers are adopting laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.
All of this technology ensures that the final report is as comprehensive and without error as possible. This benefits both you and us by requiring less time for call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Appraisal Report Delivery
The majority of our appraisals are delivered through e-mail as PDF documents. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's a lot faster than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with report delivery with this website.
Ever lost a file that was sent to you? Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because of the file size? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too. Whenever we send an appraisal, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. By bypassing email completely we can get around any problems caused by file size. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Digital Workfile Technology
It would be much easier if appraisers could never have to think about an assignment again after writing and giving it to the client. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers must keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.
Here again, Ben Hill Appraisal uses all the technology available to us technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we're able to retrieve that file at any time and recall just what that job was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Investing in the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to collect the appraisal data to finish the report faster and more accurately than previously possible.
